Overview

We are seeking a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to join our team. While being involved in various parts of the business, your primary focus will be to provide leadership and co-ordination of company financial planning, financing and budget management, and operational business intelligence functions. You shall report directly to the VP Finance.

Generating new ideas, providing innovative solutions, dealing with constant change and effectively communicating information will be the key to success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct and co-ordinate company financial planning and budget management functions

  • Co-ordinate the preparation of financial outlooks and forecasts by:

    • Managing the financial model.
    • Preparing management reports and presentations from the model
    • Integrating the financial model with the accounting system

  • Develop business intelligence metrics for operations and finance to better analyze business performance and improve the forecasting process

  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance

  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget

  • Assist with the preparation of executive reports

  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations, operational and investment decisions

  • Assist with the development of business models

  • Implement and manage goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

Personal & Technical Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting budgeting and reporting systems

  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data and prepare management and financial reports and projections

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the federal and provincial financial and tax regulations, including Investment Tax Credits

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

  • Ability to be a self starter who can produce quality materials in tight timelines and to simultaneously manage multiple projects

  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
